SPECIAL NOTE: We have updated our program to exclusively use Struckd on iPads for game creation, and will no longer require laptops. This change ensures a consistent and engaging experience for all students. Struckd offers a fantastic platform for developing games, allowing students to draw inspiration from Roblox and bring their ideas to life in an exciting and innovative way.
Each day at the Roblox Game Developer Camp is a unique adventure into game creation. On day one, students draw inspiration from playing Roblox games and then focus on RPG development in Struckd, learning environment design and storytelling. Day two shifts to crafting obstacle courses in Struckd, exploring game mechanics and creating challenging game loops. This two-day experience empowers participants with valuable insights into game development principles. As they conclude the camp, students will carry the skills needed for crafting engaging games on Struckd. Get ready for an exhilarating journey into game development creativity!
On day 1 of Roblox Game Master camp, students start by exploring real Roblox racing games for inspiration, then dive into Struckd game engine to create their own racing game. Guided by expert instructors, they learn game design, 3D navigation, and environment design. By the end of the day, they publish their racing game on Struckd, ready for friends to play online.
On Day 2, students dive into creating their own obstacle courses that they can play in Roblox. They focus on essential game elements like win mechanics and game loops, gaining a deeper understanding of game dynamics. Later in the day, they switch to Struckd to create their own RPG game. The day concludes with the exciting step of publishing their RPG to Struckd, showcasing their ability to craft engaging gaming experiences for friends to play online!
